I am Afshan Salman, mother of three and a doctor by profession but have always been an artist at heart. Whether it was sketching, fabric, acrylic painting or henna, art was always an integral part of my life. Now with the responsibilities of a married life and children, my medical profession has taken a back seat but art continues to remain my passion.
Henna art may be relatively new for the west but its all natural qualities and numerous benefits always had it very popular in the east, where it has long been used as a natural dye for hair and body. Its intricate and interwoven patterns are the reason for its rising adoration in the west.
